The Giclee scanning and printing process

‘Giclée, is used to describe a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper to achieve an inkjet print of superior archival quality, light fastness and stability’

A lot of artists nowadays sell limited edition Giclee prints of their work. I get all my original paintings professionally scanned and printed at West-End Gallery in Leicester. They use very specialised equipment to scan the painting. Then a lot of time is spent carefully matching the colours to the original painting. The image is then printed onto 320gsm high quality etching paper using specialist colour fast inks to prevent fading. Finally the print is numbered and signed by me. Some of my editions are hand finished after printing to give the piece more originality.
